Project MobileApp

Customer

Our customer is a globally operating, listed, medium-sized company with approximately 400 employees. He develops software solutions for public passenger transport. As one of the leading providers in its segment, the company offers its own software products for the commercial and operational control of transport companies as well as custum-made software for private and public customers.

Task/Solution

Our customer wanted to digitize the inconvienient, paper-based provision of up-to- date documents for public transport staff. For this purpose, a tablet solution was created, which enables mobile employees online as well as offline to access the currently valid documents. Document distribution and status are documented in a revision-proof manner. The intuitive mobile app for iOS and Android is successfully used by more than 400 mobile employees after a minimum of training and will soon be introduced in other areas.

Technical realization

The mobile app was implemented as a web app based on Angular2 with Typescript. The modern front end is designed with HTML5 and CSS3 (sass) and has the look and feel of a native iOS or Android app. Data is stored in a no-sql couch DB and synchronized with Pouch for offline operation. The customer has implemented the integration into his back-end system himself.

The development took place according to Scrum and put on a modern standard toolchain from Git and Jenkins with Gulp as front-end build tool.

Project Scope / Priorities

The team of integral-learning GmbH (2 staff members, about 4 months)took over the architecture and the realization for the front end in close coordination with the customer (approx. 75% of the total solution). The bug-fixing effort after go-life amounted to 3 days.
